Position Summary

As the Bar Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to refine ARTECHOUSE’s successful innovative bar & beverage program, as well as create one-of-a-kind immersive, multi-sensory, F&B experiences. In this role you will harmonize the culture, mission, values, and quality standards important to ATH ensuring maximum potential is achieved. This position is responsible for growing, organizing and controlling the day-to-day beverage operations for the ATH bar program across multiple locations. ARTECHOUSE is home to the first in the world Extended Reality bar, housed inside the innovative art spaces. Acting as an extension of the exhibitions on view, our XR bar is a core component of the experience, allowing visitors to continue and expand upon the art exploration with multi-sensory cocktails and mocktails activated through our extended reality (XR) mobile app.

Core Responsibilities

• Achieve and maximize profitability of F&B programs through development & refinement, cost control, and sales analysis.
• Actively manage and execute the Bar and Beverage Program. To include, hiring, Scheduling, training, developing steps of service, inventory, quality control and building bar sales.

Ensure the sanitary, health standards and orderly appearance of all physical elements in the F&B area.

• Other duties as assigned.
• Establish Food and Beverage SOPs including safe food handling standards, cleanliness and safety and ensuring staff is following all food control and safety regulations.
• Negotiate with vendors, order supplies, manage inventories and budgets.
• Follow and ensure that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently followed.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communications skills required
• Ability and willingness to work during ARTECHOUSE operating hours (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Must be based in Washington, DC
• Ability to work independently and organize effectively
• Proficiency in Excel and able to build ad-hoc analysis tools/reports helpful
• 3+ years of high-end Bar/Restaurant experience
• Must have a current beverage manager’s license or be able to obtain one
• Must be able to travel
• 1+ years managing product and team across multiple F&B outlets (either same location or multiple locations)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
• 2+ years managing a high-end respectable, innovative, and profitable cocktail program (ordering, inventory, safety standards, cost controls, etc.) Design experience is a plus.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for an 8-hour shift
