- The detailed coverage areas assigned to the candidate will turn on their expertise and qualifications. Coverage of the Investment Bank Division, Wealth Management Division, Asset Management Division, or a focus on institution-wide bank legal and or regulatory matters (such as regulatory reporting) are possibilities.
- Core responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, providing U.S. bank legal and regulatory advice to Credit Suisse’s business entities, regions and or divisions including uninsured New York Branch, Investment Bank Division, Wealth Management Division and Asset Management Division in connection with all aspects of Credit Suisse’s combined US operations.
- Instruct outside counsel as necessary.
- The candidate would provide bank legal and regulatory expertise to assist in planning, product development, structuring, reviews of new business opportunities and the execution of significant transactions, including with a particular focus on BHCA banking and nonbanking permissibility analysis, capital, liquidity and recovery and resolution planning.
- We are seeking an attorney who will be part of our U.S. Bank Regulatory team which forms part of the bank’s global bank regulatory team.

The salary range, if this role is being hired in New York City, is $180,000 - $230,000 annually, based on various factors such as experience, education, skills, internal and external market data, etc
This position offers remote working opportunities for an agreed amount of days per week.
- Proven understanding of financial services and investment banking, markets/trading businesses, asset and wealth management is desirable, as is knowledge of the Investment Company Act, broker-dealer regulations, Investment Advisors Act, regulatory reporting, and experience with interacting with regulators (especially banking regulators).
- Diligent, proactive, capacity and willingness to balance multiple responsibilities.
- Understanding of Administrative Procedures Act, administrative law and agency rule making.
- 2-6+ years of equivalent legal work experience with a large bank, major law firm and/or US bank regulatory agency.
- Proficient working knowledge of US banking statutes, regulations, agency guidelines and policy, including the Bank Holding Company Act, International Banking Act, Volcker Rule, the Federal Reserve’s Regulations K, W and Y, New York State Banking Law, and New York State Department of Financial Services regulations.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing internal documents such as policies, procedures, and intercompany agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value varied perspectives.
- Excellent analytical and advocacy skills as well as the ability to speak and write clearly and interact with business, risk, compliance, legal colleagues, and other collaborators in a creative and productive manner.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in New York State or eligible for registration as In-House Counsel in New York.
- Knowledge of AML/BSA, sanctions, and other financial crimes laws and regulations is a plus.
- Ambitious with exceptional attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
