Position Summary:

The Automotive Service Advisor is a liaison between service technicians and guests. In this position you will have the opportunity to assist guests in determining problems with their vehicles while providing accurate repair descriptions to technicians. In addition, the advisor is responsible for greeting guests amicably, listening to their requests and needs, scheduling service appointments and estimating repair costs.

Essential Functions:

• Recommend additional service as indicated in service history or vehicle inspection and advise guests on benefits of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
• Ensure guests vehicles are secured and parked in proper location with keys labeled and locked in a protected place.
• Assist guests and associates regarding matters related to vehicle manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, safety regulations etc.
• Verify manufacturer and extended warranty status with capability of explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Oversee repair progress and notify guests of any changes. Obtain authorization from guests before performing additional repairs.
• Follow up with guests on the status of their vehicle repair, based on guest communication preference.
• Prepare service visit by retrieving owner/vehicle history prior to arrival.
• Prepare detailed repair order, with estimate for parts and labor, and obtain guest?s signature.
• Ensure repair order itemizes all work, including additional authorized work if applicable.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, texts and/or emails promptly and courteously making every effort to satisfy the guest?s inquiry.
• Welcome guests, record mileage, and test drive vehicle to evaluate current service need, if applicable.
• Evaluate vehicle for paint and body damage and provide estimate when applicable.
• Communicate frequently with technicians and parts associates to ensure timely completion of work.
