How you’ll make an impact:

The Automation Quality Engineer III’s primary responsibilities will be to define, implement, maintain, and execute automated and manual tests to ensure product quality. The ideal candidate will have a provable track record of designing, implementing, and automated testing sophisticated software architectures and will have been directly responsible for writing comprehensive software test script, execute and analyze test reports. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work both independently and within a team environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Define, implement, and maintains backend automated test suites for new and modified functionality
  • Collect and report quality metrics from test executions.
  • Assist with executing non-functional testing in terms of performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other systems.
  • Set and review script quality standards and practices.
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
  • Participate in technical discussions and deep dives with Engineers to timely discover and resolve issues.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks utilized by team to automate critical user scenarios for regression testing.
  • Optimize and efficiently use the tools (such as IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, profilers, and Postman) to assist with day-to-day tasks.
  • Support engineering and development organizations in troubleshooting and/or addressing issues with applications and environments.
  • Solve complex automation challenges and works on complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Generate comprehensive test plans and execute and automate them for backend REST services flawlessly to deliver on time with the highest quality.
  • Perform automated tests, work with QA and functional/development teams to triage test results.
  • Fluency with backend automation frameworks in Java and Rest Assured.
  • Work with QA and functional/development teams to understand end-to-end system functionality.
  • Perform automated test demos and walk-through test scripts with other team members.

What you’ll need:

  • 3-5+ years automation Quality Engineering test automation experience.
  • Experience testing all layers of a web application, including front-end, service layer, and back-end connection testing.
  • Strong coding skills with Java.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional, regression, end-to-end, performance, usability, longevity, edge case, module integration, and server-side API testing.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge necessary to perform job assignments (technology, product, and process).
  • Experience with SDLC and tooling, such as GIT, branching/merging, build systems, and continuous integration.
  • Testing enterprise applications deployed to cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.
  • Comfortable with SoapUI, Rest Assured, Unix commands, and writing Shell scripts.
  • Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites.
  • Strong comprehension of automated testing implementation and strategies.
  • 3+ years of core Java.
  • Strong background in, and at least 3+ years, of working in Java based automation testing.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment, multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments.
  • Experience working with APIs and Restful services.
  • 3+ years of experience in backend automation.
  • Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools, such as Jenkins, to create and maintain automation and manual testing infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through on process improvements, investigations of new technologies and POCs.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $85,200 to $120,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
