What will you be doing?

Collaborating with our external clients and internal teams by leveraging forensic data technologies to uncover and manage data-based evidence and intelligence in contentious legal and regulatory situations.

You will assist our external clients and internal teams in confronting and resolving legal matters by providing Data Analytics support on a variety of projects involving economic disputes, financial crime investigations, legal, regulatory and compliance situations, anti-money laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and Economics Sanctions Compliance and associated regulatory compliance centered engagements. By establishing consultative relationships with stakeholders, you will guide them toward best practices in data analytics.

Our Data Analytics position offers an opportunity to be part of a team that supports a variety of industry sectors, dispute types, and geographic jurisdictions.  The problems these consultants solve for A&M’s clients are complex and require innovative solutions that call on a comprehensive range of modern data science skills, including descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.  

• The successful candidate will present findings to internal teams and external clients in interactive dashboards and other visual presentations using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlikview.
• Apply predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning/deep learning techniques such as GLM, Regression, ARIMA, clustering, decision trees, Markov chain, Optimization/Operational Research, autonomous agents, Network Analysis, and others where applicable.
• Work with large datasets, assisting our advisory teams in gaining insights through a variety of data-driven solutions such as statistical analysis, financial modeling, time series analysis, KPI and management reporting, utilizing tools such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL to interrogate and understand data.
• Contribute to increased efficiency in processing large amounts of data and will support a data-driven approach to assisting our clients in problem solving.

Qualifications: 

• Experience querying and analyzing data using common database systems and programming languages, including Python, SQL, R and SAS
• Experience manipulating data, cleaning data, structuring data and data analysis
• Anti-money laundering or cryptocurrency experience beneficial but not required
• Experience with machine learning programming languages, including R and Python (desired)
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging and uncertain environment
• Flexibility to travel approximately 20-40% of the time (once it is safe to do so)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• An excellent academic record and a BA or BS degree from an accredited university
• Ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills when working with both clients and internal teams
• Experience with visual analytics tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in the field of data science/data analytics in a professional service setting

The annual base salary range for Associate is $65,000 - $90,000, and for Senior Associate is $80,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
