Job Description
Description
The Associate Researcher I is a laboratory research position, responsible for independent conduct of routine and standardized experiments. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes, performs assays to support research studies, and assists in the clerical and supply aspects of the laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
  • Assists in new and unexpected research experiments and techniques.
  • Will assist other lab members/postdoctoral fellows in their projects, be a coauthor on publications, and depending on their skills/experience, will have the opportunity to conduct an independent research project.
  • Performs assays to support research studies.
  • Performs other related duties
  • Logs and tests samples; prepares and submits laboratory materials and specimens for shipment.
  • Management of the lab's mouse colonies (assisted largely by Mount Sinai animal facility), genotyping, as well as general lab management including ordering supplies, maintaining stocks and cell cultures and generating recombinant DNA plasmids.
  • Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.
  • Analyzes and assists in interpreting laboratory results.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field required
  • Standard molecular biology, biochemical and tissue culture techniques are required.
  • 1 - 2 years of research/laboratory experience
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $58,824.00 - $88,236.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
