Associate Pricing & Cos Analyst

General Purpose

The associate pricing & cost of service analyst, assists with rate and/or cost of service analyses through research, gathering and interpretation of data. Specifically, this position assists with preparation of pricing and/or cost of service studies, and rate spread and rate design analyses in support of proposals to revise PacifiCorp's retail prices. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, revenue analyses, and trending.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of new pricing proposals, costing methods and data collection procedures.
• Assist with preparation of testimony, exhibits and tariff changes filed with state regulatory commissions and provide analytical support.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data for trends, forecasts, and modeling.
• Prepare and respond to requests for rates and rate comparisons.
• Assist with analyses related to cost of service, design of retail electric prices, rate spread, special contract analysis, revenue normalization, rate analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

• Data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate projects and be accountable for project outcomes.
• Basic understanding of utility economics preferred.
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds and ability to work as a member of a team.
• Experience in data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending and modeling.
• Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
• Ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
• Travel may be required.
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, business, accounting, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
• Advanced degree preferred.
