What to Expect
The Role: Associate Manager, Quality Operations - Gigafactory Nevada

Tesla Gigafactory Nevada is looking for an Associate Quality Operations Manager – HV Battery Pack and Enclosure, responsible to lead, coach and coordinate Quality Supervisors and Technicians within Gigafactory Nevada – vehicle line – Pack unit area.
In this role, you will drive for collaboration and achievement of company goals by enabling the Quality team to support and drive problem solving, effective planning, coaching and training personnel, developing successful employees.
What You’ll Do
  • Drive a culture that prioritizes safety and quality through communication, action, and accountability. Motivate your team through recognition awards and spark coins
  • Ensure sufficient coverage of competent, trained staff to support all Quality and Production targets in all Gigafactory manufacturing operations
  • Drive problem solving activities focusing on quality products built right at first time
  • Develop supervisory team for an individual professional development
  • Focus on the development of all team members by getting to know them and understand their skills and abilities. Utilize a skills matrix that you define to evaluate and address the areas that need refinement.
  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & an environment of continuous learning and improvement
  • Immerse yourself within the cross functional team of production/engineering/maintenance/safety/production control/NPI organizations to provide world class customer service
  • Facilitate the improvement of quality controls and audits to prevent escape of suspect material. Support projects to ensure robustness in the quality system and its controls by implementing effective controls for suspect materials(Physical and virtual material management)
  • Provide effective equipment and tooling to improve quality timeline and disposition. Support the allocation of resources and space to complete quality inspections and disposition without escape of material.
  • Ensure Quality Operations teams utilize standardized work and consistent work practices across shifts and areas
  • Empower the Quality Operations team to collaborate with Engineering to improve product quality, product manufacturability and line productivity
  • Identify opportunities to qualify products and processes efficiently and effectively, constantly looking for improvements.
  • Build a strong, motivated Quality Operations team capable of consistently delivering high-quality performance
  • Maintain a culture that prioritizes safety and quality through communication, action, and accountability
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to develop motivation and drive from team members even on challenging situations
  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
  • BS or MS in Business or Technical discipline and/or evidence of exceptional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to support Quality problem identification, prioritization, and resolution
  • 3+ year experience managing teams of people in high volume manufacturing setting
  • Ability to work with and develop Quality performance metrics
  • Able to work well under extreme pressure while managing competing demands and deadlines
  • Desire to make a difference in the world and support sustainability
