About the Job:

The Assoc. Manager, QA Engineering leads a quality assurance team, defines test strategies, ensures product correctness, and improves testing efficiency for mission-critical systems at Taco Bell. This is an excellent opportunity to work with other talented, experienced technical professionals on shaping the future of tech within Taco Bell. The role will be with the Order Middleware team responsible for enabling our connected restaurants to process digital orders from our internal systems along with partners like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grub Hub. The Assoc. Manager of QA Engineering will report to the Manager of Quality Assurance and will work with a team of quality engineers.

The Day-to-Day:

• Lead the Quality efforts for Order Middleware by providing direction to team members on their testing as well as helping to manage the team’s development growth.
• Coordinate automation efforts between manual and automation teams to improve the quality of Taco Bell platforms.
• Work with Development, Quality Engineering, and Product owners and review technical artifacts to understand the technical architecture and derive a test strategy that spans multiple products and functional areas to define and execute testing.
• Collaborates with other quality teams to create and maintain test infrastructure to support all phases of testing from manual to end-to-end testing.
• Provide updates to upper management and other team members on changes being implemented and how they would impact other projects.
• Inspires and drives a culture of continuous improvements with team members and themselves to create unique and better ways to execute testing and ensure the quality of technology at Taco Bell.

Is This You?

• Be the voice of our customers by providing analysis on the quality of our products and their impact on them and our business.
• At least 3+ years of leadership on a highly technical team with effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop creative solutions to assigned projects.
• At least 6+ years of hands-on technical experience in quality engineering, test automation, CI/CD, and SDLC with 3+ years of experience in Micro services (REST, GraphQL) and AWS cloud-based architecture.
• Help tackle cross-platform engineering challenges and contribute creative ideas to the engineering teams.
