Job Description
Grammarly is excited to offer a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members work primarily remotely in the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, or Portugal. Certain roles have specific location requirements to facilitate collaboration at a particular Grammarly hub.

All roles have an in-person component: Conditions permitting, teams meet 2–4 weeks every quarter at one of Grammarly’s hubs in San Francisco, Kyiv, New York, Vancouver, and Berlin, or in a workspace in Kraków. This flexible approach gives team members the best of both worlds: plenty of focus time along with in-person collaboration that fosters trust and unlocks creativity.

Grammarly team members in this role must be based in Canada, and they must be able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub(s) where the team is based.

The opportunity

Every day, tens of millions of people and 50,000 professional teams rely on Grammarly’s AI-enabled communication assistance to help them communicate confidently and achieve their goals. Our team members have the autonomy to take on exciting challenges in pursuit of our mission to improve lives by improving communication. Together, we’re building on more than a decade of steady growth and profitability. We’re defining the communication assistance category for individuals, enterprises, and developers with tailored service offerings: Grammarly Premium, Grammarly Business, Grammarly for Education, and Grammarly for Developers. All of this begins with our team collaborating in an inclusive, values-driven, and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re building out a new team, the Associate Account Executive team, to drive positive business outcomes through sales motions in our SMB segment. As a founding member of the Associate Account Executive role, you will help set direction for this revenue-focused team. You will work with our fastest-growing SMB customers, serving as the first line of contact for all our customer's needs and summarizing key learnings back to our leadership teams.

Your impact

As an Associate Account Executive for Grammarly Business, you will be focused on growing positive revenue and decreasing churn within our SMB segment. You will test ideas rapidly, and should be excited about developing learnings for this new motion. We have a number of sales lead sources (sales form submissions, MQLs, and PQLs) that we will experiment with sending to the Associate Account Executive team, and you will be a part of building out scalable and repeatable playbooks for each.

You will also be responsible for helping to build renewal and customer retention programs to support a large volume of customers. You will focus on delivering revenue targets for all accounts between 50 - 250 employees, working cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal teams, including sales, customer success, deal-desk, ops, and product, to ensure our SMB customers are fully supported. You will innovate and iterate on our Self Serve contract renewal process to retain and grow customers while mitigating churn or contraction.

Additionally, you will identify and manage expansion opportunities to ensure Grammarly Business adoption within our customer base. We are very excited about figuring out incremental motions, over our Self Serve motions, in the SMB segment.

You will be evaluated and compensated based on your performance, the learnings and growth of the SMB function, and your ability to role-model Grammarly’s EAGER values (ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable).

  • By the end of month three, you will have tested new playbooks and evaluated performance measurements. At this point, you will be collaborating on new ideas for how we might grow the SMB segment. You will also be fully ramped for quota and revenue targets.
  • By the end of year one, you will be an expert in delivering and retaining customer value for our SMB customers. You will have helped build out scalable and repeatable processes that will ensure the long-term health of our customers.
  • By the end of month six, you will be fully ramped in the role, and will be identifying new opportunities that you and the team can go after in our SMB segment.
  • Your first 30 days will be focused on learning: you will start to talk to customers directly and work on motions that we have already had success with (renewals/sales form leads).

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Has a Grammarly-first mindset. Can continuously identify the most important steps to ensuring the health of Grammarly’s SMB accounts.
  • Is a strong communicator. Has the ability to communicate effectively, distill feedback, and synthesize ideas. Also communicates effectively externally to our SMB customers, always delivering a great customer experience.
  • Thinks systematically and operationally, with a focus on identifying and analyzing processes and workflows to service a large set of customers.
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is collaborative and can work well cross-functionally.
  • Brings 2+ years of experience in sales, and is able to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Is technical and curious about deeply understanding the product.
  • Is able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub where the team is based.

Support for you, professionally and personally

  • A connected team: Grammarly builds a product that helps people connect, and we apply this mindset to our own team. Our remote-first hybrid model enables a highly collaborative culture supported by our EAGER (ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable) values. We work to foster belonging among team members in a variety of ways. This includes our employee resource groups, Grammarly Circles, which promote connection among those with shared identities, such as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ team members, women, and parents. We also celebrate our colleagues and accomplishments with global, local, and team-specific programs.
  • Professional growth: We believe that autonomy and trust are key to empowering our team members to do their best, most innovative work in a way that aligns with their interests, talents, and well-being. We support professional development and advancement with training, coaching, and regular feedback.

Compensation And Benefits

Grammarly offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing the following and more:

  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Excellent health care (including a wide range of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and fertility benefits)
  • 401(k) and RRSP matching
  • Wellness stipends
  • Home office stipends
  • Caregiver and pet care stipends
  • Twenty days of paid time off per year, eleven days of paid holidays per year, and unlimited sick days
  • Admission discounts
  • Paid parental leave
  • Disability and life insurance options

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US and Canada locations are categorized into compensation zones based on each geographic region’s cost of labor index. For more information about our compensation zones, please refer to this page. If a location of interest is not listed, please speak with a recruiter for additional information.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

At Grammarly, we value our differences, and we encourage all—especially those whose identities are traditionally underrepresented in tech organizations—to apply. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, ancestry, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, political belief, or any other characteristic protected by law. Grammarly is an equal opportunity employer and a participant in the US federal E-Verify program (US). We also abide by the Employment Equity Act (Canada).

Please note that EEOC is optional and specific to US-based candidates.
