Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
The Department of Design seeks an energetic faculty member to join a dynamic Interior Design program. The successful applicant will contribute to the universitys mission through teaching, research, and service by serving as a faculty member in the Interior Design program and will have opportunities to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Interior and Environmental Design.


Required Qualifications
All applicants should have earned a terminal degree (Ph.D., MFA), by appointment time, in Interior Design or a related field. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer-reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidates intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.


Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in interior design professional practice, by date of hire, either having passed the NCIDQ exam or meeting eligibility requirements to sit for it
• Experience with and competency in relevant industry-standard software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp)
• WELL AP, NKBA, AAHID, or other relevant certification(s)
• Teaching experience in higher education
