Job Description
The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and consideration of relevant salary market data. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 205 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will assist in the administration of a Division I intercollegiate women’s soccer program, recruit as permitted by NCAA rules, conduct on-the-field teaching and coaching, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. This position requires frequent travel, work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays, a valid U.S. driving license, and the ability to meet the University of Iowa Driving Program standards.

Required Qualifications


  • Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated team environment;
  • Demonstrated experience working constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Three or more years of demonstrated successful coaching and player development experience in the sport of soccer at the collegiate/national/professional level (Volunteer coaching experience will be counted as 50% time);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent);


Desirable Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in designing opponent scouting reports and a player development plan;
  • Plan and administer a recruiting calendar
  • Utilize a video analysis system such as sports code, spiideo, and hudl
  • Demonstrated specific experience in goalkeeper and field player development;
  • Demonstrated experience in international and domestic talent assessment and proven ability to effectively communicate with and successfully recruit elite-level student-athletes;
  • Working knowledge and the ability to:
  • Develop and manage camp curriculum and administration; assist with coaching and instruction at camps and clinics.
  • At least three years of successful coaching experience at the NCAA level;
