resources strategies and solutions - on projects in the community you live in, regionally, and
throughout California.
We are seeking an Assistant Engineer/Water Resources for our Folsom HQ office. Under the guidance
of Associate and Senior Engineers, you will be providing support to a variety of civil engineering and
water resources tasks. You will be performing engineering work and exercising independent judgment.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in preparation of engineering analyses for potable water, sewer, recycled water, drainage,
- Assist in preparation of plans, estimates, and reports associated with water resources design
- Assist in the analysis and preparation of erosion control mitigation
- Prepare and check quantity calculations
- Assist in the preparation of construction stormwater documents
and analyses
• Coordinate with internal/external disciplines
- Prepare exhibits and figures for meetings, reports and proposals
- Perform quality control for reports/projects
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification; or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Strong understanding of basic water resources principles
- CA driver’s license
- 0 to 5 years of water resources experience
Other Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of hydraulic design software such as HEC-RAS, StormCAD, Innovyze software,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong technical writing skills
- Knowledge of CAD software such as Microstation or AutoCAD
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

ASSISTANT ENGINEER (Water Resources)
Physical Requirements:
- Usually work near others, such as in a shared office space
- Work mostly indoors. Occasionally work outdoors in remote or urban environments
- Will sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a workday
- Occasionally travel to a project site by automobile and/or airplane
- Occasionally wear protective gear, such as a hard hat
- Sometimes work in noisy or distracting work environments
- Occasionally work from a vehicle while at project sites
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Will use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a regular basis
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 commensurate with
qualifications and experience
