This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for Early Career Water Resources Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Water Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

The WSP Water Business Line is driven to provide our clients with solutions to challenging projects in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. We are passionate about the industry, and passionate about providing engineering consulting services across a wide range of engineering disciplines. Our engineers take part in providing local technical assistance for the analysis, development, and design of processes and infrastructure relating to stormwater BMPs, culverts, hydrology, open channel hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, floodplain modeling/mapping, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, river/stream/habitat restoration and fish passage, water quality treatment, and preserving the quality of the environment.


Your Impact

  • Conduct field work and data collection for watershed studies, geomorphic assessments and to complete design tasks
  • Serve as support staff for water resources, drainage, stormwater and ecosystem restoration projects.
  • Perform GIS and CADD analyses to support engineering and technical services.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support water infrastructure, environmental, as well as resiliency and climate adaptation projects.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of professional water resources engineering work relating to water supply, quality, management, and treatment for various end uses – recreationally, commercially, and/or industrially.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate or May 2022 Graduate in an accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
