POSITION: Assistant Superintendent of Instruction

LOCATION: School Board Office

FMLA STATUS: Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum, Doctorate is preferred. Must hold a Virginia State License in Administration and Supervision PreK-12 with time of hire. Must be proficient in use of technology. Must have excellent organizational skills and oral and written communication skills. Understanding of research on successful educational practices. Must have reliable transportation.

SUMMARY: To serve as a leader who defines, communicates, motivates and collaborates with staff to implement the academic vision of the organization. This position is an ideal opportunity to play a transformative role for Accomack County Public Schools by supporting and driving performance though a variety of metrics reflecting academic success and school culture. The Assistant Superintendent of Instruction works closely with the Superintendent and the Senior Leadership Team in the planning and execution of the Accomack County Public Schools’ mission, vision, and goals.
