Job Description

Job Summary: This position is an entry level/post graduate position that is primarily responsible for developing project schedules and processes while working with functional leads and project managers. The Assistant Project Manager will aid in the construction of Natural Gas projects for utility infrastructure projects by assisting in identifying critical and near-critical paths as well as trends to help the project team stay on track.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in paperless project development, training and field implementation.
  • Review completed field work and draft as-build maps as per customer specifications. (AutoCAD)
  • Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.
  • Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring.
  • Control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of tickets, invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
  • Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of contract items progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc.
  • Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the project management system (View Point).

· Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a project management role or similar construction related role. Utility construction experience preferred.

· Must have a strong interest in the Construction and Infrastructures Industry.

· Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively and manage deadlines; highly organized.

· Must be proactive and show willingness to take on additional responsibilities without having to be assigned.

· Must be able to work on a team, with various partners from start to finish.

· Strong computer skills including web-based applications. ViewPoint experience a plus.

· Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, data manipulation and spreadsheet design to communicate results.

· Experience in PowerPoint for report preparation preferred.

· Must have strong analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communications skills.

· Must be highly motivated and self-directed.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Education:


· BS Degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
