Role Summary
Rivian is seeking a proven leader specializing in customer - facing events, activation s and reta il experiences who desires the challenge and excitement of building something from the ground up. You are the ultimate brand ambassador and accountable for creating a highly productive environment in which customers have a meaningful and memorable experience, employees are motivated and engaged, and the business performs and thrives. You will oversee our “asset-light” remote retail activations and experiential events , sharing Rivian with our customers across North America. You will oversee demo drives, sales and experiential activities, daily operations, and team performance in a fast paced remote and event-based setting, ensuring the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience. As an Assistant Manager, you are accountable for driving sales, supporting the team, and achieving operational excellence across a series of traveling activations .  You will partner with the regional leadership team and Asset-Light operations team  to oversee all activations that you are assigned to , ensuring effective implementation of brand culture and business initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Build a strong workplace culture focused on employee development, team experience and over-delivering for our customers
  • Collect, organize and analyze data and anecdotal feedback in order to create impactful business reviews that highlight our retail KPIs and measures of success
  • Ability to interact with and organize Media and other high-profile requests/experiences when needed
  • Model professionalism and Rivian’s Code of Conduct at all times , holding your team accountable to the same
  • Uphold the processes that allow location team to seamlessly move a customer through the ownership funnel with the help of the digital commerce platform and CRM tools
  • Manage and maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as Rivian company policy and procedures
  • Uphold the operational framework, best practices, and playbooks to deliver the best experience possible to our customers and team
  • Maintain all Brand standards in each activation
  • Own, track, and deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring the location team is invested in the related company-wide strategic objectives
  • Ensure that the customer experience is best-in-class: authentic, engaging, educational and aligned with Rivian’s mission, core values and culture .
  • Manage the staffing model, including scheduling, shift patterns and the number of staff required to meet demand / traffic, in order to maximize efficiency and deliver a best-in-class experience .
  • Operate in a remote setting, traveling to lead and support a variety of customer facing events and activations
  • Source, maintain , and manage internal fleet units in coordination with fleet and other stakeholders
  • Deploy the greater Rivian community strategy, prioritizing initiatives to maximize impact to your local market
  • Supervise event staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating performance
  • Deploy Rivian’s Sales and Customer Engagement strategy remotely , generating demand and connecting with the broader community through drives, outreach, and a variety of sales and marketing tactics
  • Oversee customer engagement and support, including product education, drives, lead generation and demand generation
  • Support various special events (both onsite and remote) and new site openings across the commercial organization as needed
  • Keep a pulse on your local and national market s , tracking and reporting on business trends across local cohorts to better inform the business
  • Collaborate with the Asset-Light Operations and Programming teams to plan and execute activations, events, and strategies that create brand awareness, engage the community, drive traffic, generate demand, and support retention and conversion
  • Work with executive leadership to identify key business and performance opportunities and develop solutions that address the root cause
  • Meet or exceed activation objectives and financial plans, including KPI targets, labor budget, and overall location P&L goals
Qualifications
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, solicit cooperation, and achieve results through collaboration while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Outstanding verbal and written communication required
  • 5+ years of experience in customer service; 1+ years supervisory experience required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain local sales licenses if applicable in your state
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of residence that you will be driving/ operating a vehicle (or state that you are commuting daily to/from) and possess an exceptional driving record
  • Excellent written and verbal language skills in English, additional languages a plus
  • Extensive experience with P&L, POS and CRM software
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Preferrable industries include Retail, experiential/brand marketing, sales, hospitality or similar fields; Direct-to-Consumer business model a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support customers on nights, weekends and/or holidays; ability and willingness to travel based on business needs to support other market launches and operations
  • An obsessive approach to elevating the customer experience and commitment to taking every opportunity to over-deliver when it comes to delighting and interacting with our community
  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years; No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years; No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period. Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring
  • Ability to obtain and maintain local sales licenses if applicable in your state 
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various locations within the US and internationally up to 90% of the time, work weekends, evenings and holidays with willingness to travel to various retail locations when required
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and apply a scrappy and resourceful approach to everything you do. Solve problems and overcome challenges with creativity and ingenuity
Physical Requirements
  • Strong understanding of written and spoken English
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting up to 2 or more hours at a time, standing for up to 8 or more hours a day, walking, bending, kneeling, laying, twisting, carrying, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Willingness to work in various working conditions including being in a full service retail center or unpredictable weather conditions
  • Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics
