Position Summary


ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Facilities and Logistics is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the museum facilities and for non-art related operations and logistics. Functions in the department include Buildings and Grounds, Carpentry, Painting, Engineering, Mail Center, and Warehouse Logistics and Fulfillment.


ABOUT THE POSITION

Picks, packs and processes orders received for Shops and Web, as well as processing return-to-vendor orders and other miscellaneous shipments. Processes shipments through manifest system, or freight lines as instructed.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installs all rate updates into Manifest machine to ensure proper billing of shipping charges.
  • Restocks packing areas and picking areas as necessary to provide for smooth, timely order fulfillment.
  • Keeps all work areas free of debris and clutter per housekeeping standards.
  • Completes end of day closing procedure for UPS manifest and provides reports to the Director.
  • Completes processing of orders through product system, manifest system, or by completing bill of lading for freight shipment.
  • Assists in dock operations directed by management.
  • Makes the Director aware of supply needs to ensure proper packaging of all shipments.
  • Picks and packs from invoice, packing slip, or packing documents.
  • Provides assistance to other warehouse operations as assigned by management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of safety training virtually or in person, including, but not limited to: Asbestos Awareness, Hazard Communications, Fire Safety/Extinguisher Use, Personal Protective Equipment, Back Injury Prevention, and Hearing Conservation.
  • Follows detailed instructions, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must have general knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in shipping and receiving.


Physical Requirements

  • Using/wearing Personal Protective Equipment as required including, but not limited to, respirators, protective footwear and eyewear.
  • Regular lifting and moving 80lbs without assistance.
  • Stretching and reaching overhead and below the waist.
  • Long periods walking, squatting, and kneeling.
