Job Description

Summary:

Directs the functional area’s activities and resources of the Food and Nutrition Department to ensure alignment with Memorial Healthcare System.



Detailed responsibilities:

• Develops and implements department operational goals; creates and implements policies and procedures consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

• Assists with maintaining operational, strategic and capital budgets for the department. Responsible for pursuing and implementing cost savings initiatives and strategies.

• Responsible for ensuring the clinical nutrition, patient services and culinary areas are following appropriate regulatory standards and policies; complete oversight for the department’s performance improvement plan and data analysis.

• Oversees complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing functions, including hiring, orienting, evaluating and disciplinary actions accordingly for the department.

• Analyzes production services, clinical systems and practices to provide leadership with decision support information.

• Responsible for complete departmental oversight in the absence of the director.


Education:

• Bachelors



Credentials:

• Registered Dietitian CDR Certification


Education equivalent experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Dietetics & Nutrition



Required Work Experience:

•Two (2) years of clinical nutrition experience; healthcare management experience preferred.
