Aside from our
Position: The 10 month part-time assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all facets of a successful intercollegiate Cross Country and Track program within the framework of the mission of the college and the athletic department. These include, but are not limited to coaching, recruitment, academic monitoring, instruction and the development of all student-athletes. Applicants should have experience competing in intercollegiate cross country and/or track and field.
Duties: Assistance with oversight for all phases of the Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Primary responsibilities include attracting, recruiting and retaining student-athletes who fit the educational mission of Russell Sage College. The position requires the development of an intercollegiate athletic experience, which emphasize high levels of academic and athletic performance in an appropriate balance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred; highly organized individual with strong writing and verbal skills; previous college playing and/or coaching experience required; experience in recruiting preferred; demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy.

- Assist Head Coach and Athletic Department with daily administrative duties including occasional game administration
- Ensure academic success, focusing on classroom achievements and graduation requirements
- Knowledge of NCAA DIII rules and regulations to ensure compliance with departmental, conference and national policies
- Recruitment efforts including travel, written and verbal communication and scouting
- Game day management (facilities/team needs), coaching and travel
- Supervision of support staff
- Compliance with NCAA and conference legislation
- Training, practice development and organization
- Assist with fundraising efforts for the program
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
- Planning and maintaining team budget
- Practice and game preparation
Requirements
