Assistant Controller Jobs

The Military Division of Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for an Assistant Controller for their Denver CO corporate office. This is an agricultural co-op that spans 135,000 base acres, a Grower-Owned organization with a long family history that has been passed down for the 100 years of the company’s existence.

* They are preferably seeking candidates with U.S. military experience. *

Must have Manufacturing background with at least 8 years experience monitoring and analyzing costs & inventory production usages in a factory/manufacturing environment. Strong experience with SAP, Power BI, and Excel will give you a huge advantage over other candidates!

Compensation: $120,000-160,000

Travel: 25% - 40% regional travel

What You Will Do:

Oversee and manage financial and control aspects of plant manufacturing operations. This position will report to the Corporate Controller; will work closely with corporate and factory-based operations, maintenance, plant management and processing teams to better monitor, control and find opportunities to improve costs of factory operations.

• Partner with procurement team to ensure factory costs, usages and inventories are reported and aligned to ensure supplies needed to operate factories are in stock.
• Monitor and analyze production of goods and extraction yields; follow-up and report on material differences.
• Train and develop factory personnel on inventory and financial control policies and procedures to ensure proper controls are in place.
• Communicate, report, and provide frequent analysis to corporate and factory leadership teams on production, costs, and control activities.
• Track/analyze factory manufacturing costs (including labor, maintenance, energy, supplies, and overhead expenses); ensure costs are accurately reported.
• Analyze and explore cost improvement opportunities; work with cross-functional teams to execute on opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis in conjunction with factory leadership teams.
• Monitor and routinely audit inventory measurements and cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of inventories produced, consumed, and reported; ensure that goods and invoice receipts (GRIR) are accurate and current.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory control.
• SAP, Power BI and Excel experience preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in accounting / finance roles with factory Manufacturing experience required.
• At least 4 years US Military experience highly preferred.
