Job Description

Adams Homes of Northwest Florida, Inc. is currently searching for an Assistant Controller for our Pensacola, FL Administrative Office. The Company has been in operations for over 30 years and has a strong reputation within the homebuilding industry. This position provides the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the financial security and accounting side of operations.  As the Assistant Controller, you will report directly to the VP of Accounting and Finance and ensure that internal accounting and cash management policy are adhered to.  We are searching for an individual that has successfully managed large amounts of data, internal audits, monthly account reconciliation, preparation of management reports, and the oversight of cash accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the monthly and quarterly financial close process
  • Ensure that postings are accurately allocated in accordance with accounting policy and GAAP
  • Report cash balances and projections
  • Timely reconciliations of general ledger and intercompany clearing accounts
  • Ensure the Company’s internal accounting policy(s) are followed
  • Prepare daily cash receipt summaries and reports
  • Maintenance of online commercial banking services and credit cards
  • Assist with special projects and analysis as the Company grows
  • Initiate electronic payments
  • Check writing
  • Preparation of weekly deposits

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Microsoft Excel experience
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in office management, bookkeeping, and/or Treasury Department
  • BA/BS degree preferably in accounting, finance, or a related field
