Assistant Buyer - Packaging

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Buyer with a strong background in the cosmetics, skincare and/or beauty industry. This candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring seamless delivery of primary and secondary packaging from suppliers globally, while maintaining inventory and reducing costs. This role will be collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including planning, production, logistics, sales, and marketing to ensure smooth and timely supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels to optimize costs and reduce out of stock inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels
• Place purchase orders as required being mindful of MOQ and cost breaks.
• Manage all receiver entry into ERP system, investigate and resolve any discrepancies
• Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure efficient transportation and delivery of products to customers.
• Develop and maintain KPIs to monitor supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing, on-time delivery, and high-quality products.
• Coordinates purchases from order placement to delivery
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of primary and secondary packaging
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline supply chain operations and enhance efficiency.
• Will be responsible for managing complex vendor lists of suppliers in the Primary and Secondary Packaging space.
• Create and maintain SKUs and BOMs in ERP system

Preferred Qualification and Experience

• Scrappy attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and curiosity to investigate
• Ability to quickly adapt to a fast- paced environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using ERP/inventory systems, preferably NetSuite;
• Highly collaborative, with excellent communication and follow-up skills
• A minimum of 5 years working in operations in a supply chain role preferably in Cosmetics or Skincare
