Architectural Cad Drafter Jobs

McCollum Architects, P.C. has an immediate part-time position available for an Architectural CAD Draftsperson to work with the company owner with a primary focus on residential new construction, renovation, and additions. The Draftsperson will assist in all phases of design and construction, from feasibility studies through project completion producing schematic design and construction permit documents.

The Draftsperson position will assist with the owner to program, plan, design, coordinate and complete architectural design. The position is based out of the Union Pier, MI office and this position may also be able to work remotely.This is a part-time, independent contractor-based position.

Responsibilities

•Using CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, to prepare architectural drawings, elevations, renderings, schedules, and written specifications

•Using Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Word as needed

•Working with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specifications

•Ensuring that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards, using office developed title blocks

•Maintaining a library of standard drawing templates and title blocks.

•Updating existing drawings as new information becomes available.

•Assist in communication with clients (optional)

•Keeping track of all reimbursable payments and drafting time by job.

•Submitting plans to the appropriate enforcing agency (optional)

Additional Responsibilities, depending on applicant’s skill set

•3-D renderings, modeling and views during client meetings using screen beam software. Sending clients screen shots for discussion.

•Using Google Earth, Beacon of Berrien County, Wetlands Data & GIS Mapping, High Risk Erosion Maps & Critical Dune Maps.

•Assist in preparing Plan Commission presentations for ZBA or other variance meetings.

Qualifications

•Auto CAD/Revit experience

•2+ years related CAD experience in residential projects

•Strong knowledge of researching building codes

•Familiar with US construction methods and practices

•Experience working with contractors and other consultants, and coordination of projects

•Ability to complete projects on time

•Outstanding communication skills especially with clients and consultants
