Job Description
Position Overview:
The Apartment Readiness Worker (ARW) is a member of the HLPS Housing Team that creates and completes housing navigation and placement services, including follow-up post placement, for clients in the program.

The ARW will ensure the identified apartment is ready for move-in. The ARW will not assume landlord responsibilities but will assist with advocating for any necessary clean-up and repair before the client moves in, including upgrades needed for a unit to pass inspection for a rental subsidy program.

The ARW will also help the client move their possessions in and coordinate furniture delivery/set-up as needed.

The salary for this postion is Minimum:50,000 - Maximum :50,000
Qualifications:
  • Assist clients who have accepted and received housing placements with advocating for any necessary clean-up and repair.
  • Potentially accompany potential tenants to view apartments and walk-thru community.
  • Support an environment that embeds diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA)
  • Perform all job-related tasks as required.
  • Provide accurate, complete, and timely data entry and other documentation of interactions with clients.
  • Assist with inspection and advocacy to confirm identified units have been approved and cleared under all established housing health and safety laws, building codes, and other requirements.
  • Employ best practices for effective feedback and communication at all levels of staff engagement.
  • Assist with moving and furniture and apartment furnishings set up, delivery and/or procurement/purchasing if needed.
  • Participate in workplace culture that inspires high-level performance, collaboration, accountability, and professional and respectful interaction.

Minimum Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

Skill and Experience Requirements:
  • Track record of effective collaboration supporting clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Bilingual (or multi-lingual) preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills to track interactions, invoices, and activities in a clear succinct comprehensive way.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent public-facing customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs and make multiple visits in the community as needed. Sporadic evening or weekend hours may be required.
