After Hours Part Time Coding Basics Mentor (Part-Time)

As an After-Hours Coding Basics Mentor, you will be working under/alongside an Instructor to effectively teach and guide students through their learning experience. You will closely collaborate with individuals and teams to assess, provide feedback, and assist with project work. Moreover, as an After-Hours Coding Basics Mentor, you will be responsible for ensuring that students comprehend their tasks, achieve their project goals, and grasp the concepts covered in the curriculum. Your proactive guidance and support will be invaluable in helping students navigate their project work successfully.

• Collaborate with your leader to shape engaging curriculum content and instruction
• Work closely with individual students, igniting their passion for learning and ensuring they master essential principles
• Leverage diverse approaches to cater to every student
• Inspire and motivate students to conquer the challenges of acquiring new skills
• Lead interactive in-class exercises, project sessions, and lecture discussions
• Participate actively in student reviews and critiques, fostering growth and improvement
• Deliver and facilitate captivating course content that sparks student interest

• Quick learner, adept at acquiring knowledge on the go
• Proficient in program-specific languages and technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Skilled in facilitating engaging lectures
• Proficient in fundamental computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating relatability and effective communication
• Proactive communicator, delivering clear feedback to students

• Demonstrated experience in open-source projects, personal projects, or group projects preferred
• Entry-level position suitable for candidates starting their professional journey

• Self-taught developer, Bootcamp graduate, or equivalent degree

• Strong mental acuity
• Fully remote work environment
• Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are vital requirements of this position
• Access information using a computer
• Class Schedule: Tues & Thur, 6 – 9:30 pm; Saturdays, 10 am – 1:30 pm
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively
• Other essential and marginal job functions are subject to potential modifications.
