The Admissions Data and Reporting Manager position reports to the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Dean for Admissions of the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. The Admissions Data and Reporting Manager is responsible for the on-going management and integration of data flow and the dissemination of output of the multiple associated School of Dental Medicine admissions data systems. This includes, but is not limited to: ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the data; ensuring and maintaining the security and protection of data through establishing the appropriate levels of access to authorized users for current and historical data; and ensure the accessibility, reliability and timeliness of the data to satisfy the needs of the data users. The Admissions Data and Reporting Manager will act as a liaison to troubleshoot and provide training and support amongst admissions systems providers and data users in the School of Dental Medicine, University IS&T, offices and administration, the American Dental Education Association, and additional organizations and third-party vendors. The Admissions Data and Reporting Manager is responsible to identify, create and maintain a database platform that will create efficiencies of operation through the integration and management of data and end-user reporting. This includes performing local database maintenance and management and providing oversight and documentation for proper data collection processes and procedures. The Admissions Data and Reporting Manager is responsible for organizing and presenting data into informational summaries and statistical data into various modes of outputs that support evidence-based Admissions practices through the producing of standard and ad-hoc reports for the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Director of Admissions. The Admissions and Data and Reporting Manager is responsible for creating and designing push button automated standard reports and ad-hoc reports and establishing a reporting schedule for weekly, monthly and annual reports to all authorized users. In addition, the Admissions Data and Reporting Manager will work with the Director to support recruitment and yield efforts through the implementation and management of communication workflows for relevant communications with prospective applicants, applicants, enrolling students, and others invested in dental school admissions, such as pre-health advisors from feeder institutions. Additional responsibilities as assigned by Director and Assistant Dean.
Required Skills
- Must be professional, collaborative, conscientious, timely and results-oriented.
- Familiarity with FileMaker is an asset.
- Must have flexibility and possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of work experience in a higher education environment or prior experience in university admissions highly desired.
- Experience in higher education, particularly admissions, is preferred.
- Commitment to data integrity, security and confidentiality is crucial.
- Demonstrated experience with relational databases.
- Expertise in computer information systems and relational databases is required.
- Highly organized, attentive to detail, technically proficient.
- Proven ability to collaborate and work with a wide variety of people is essential.
- Expertise in information systems; computer science background.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a careful listener and able to consider the intent behind the request.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Business Management, or equivalent is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
- Must be able to problem-solve and introduce solutions effectively and demonstrate the ability to design and improve systems.
- Must be able to establish and nurture good working relationships.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Strong foundation in data collection, reporting, and statistical analyses is required.
- Demonstrated focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Analytical skills to review and assess statistical information and program reports, related to the graduate admissions programs is essential.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is essential.
- Must have sound judgment, exceptional critical thinking skills and be a proactive, strategic problem solver.
- Must be able to write clear and comprehensive reports and communicate to both technical and business audiences.
