POSITION SUMMARY:

The Administrative Assistant I will assist the Athletic Director as assigned in maintaining reliable and accurate data and files for high student achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to learn software applications quickly and efficiently
- Ability to travel between school sites within the district
- Ability to work independently
- Effective organizational skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years clerical, office, or related experience
- Experience with various Office software such as Word and Excel
- Ability to work with staff, teachers, students, and parents at various educational levels
- Proficiency in record keeping and attention to detail
- Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares a compilation of information for reports. Types reports, memorandums, and a variety of correspondence. Type’s general communications without supervision.
- Maintain calendar of meetings for the Assistant Principal as assigned
- Exhibits patience, courtesy, and tact when dealing with others.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department concerns and dispenses authorized information.
- Composes, or transcribes from rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other material.
- Work closely with and maintain open communication with the Assistant Principal assigned to provide reliable and accurate data and files for students in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit public notification.
- Assist with ordering supplies for school.
- Opens, processes, and distributes all incoming department mail.
- Answers telephone to provide information, take message, or transfer calls.
- Perform general clerical duties as requested.
- Knowledge of PowerSchool
- Organized, self-starter who prioritizes work and is dependable.
- Duties will be assigned bases on the Assistant Principal assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
- Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.
- Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to use personal computers and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing. Spreadsheet preparation and tracking skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and maintain a filing system so that documents are systematically stored and readily available.
