Acupuncturist: Mpg - Integrative Medicine

Summary:
Determines diagnosis in Chinese medicine and functional medicine terms. Provides treatment within scope of practice and training with a focus of improving patient overall well-being.

Detailed responsibilities:

• Works cooperatively with medical team and Integrative Medicine Physician and medical and administrative staff.
• Provides education and in-service training for medical professionals and conducts community lectures and events.
• Creates and maintains appropriate patient documentation. Complies with quality, safety and infection control protocols as well as laws and regulations.
• Suggests other treatments including referrals to registered dieticians, exercise physiology and professionals of the healing arts (psychology and social work).
• Evaluates and performs detailed health history including Chinese Medical Diagnostic parameters and functional medicine assessment.
• Treatment involves inserting fine needles into the skin at particular locations to stimulate the energy flow along meridians and the body's own healing response. Incorporates other treatment including acupressure, heating pads, compresses, etc. Evaluates treatment outcomes.
• Develops a personalized treatment plan after completion of detailed history including all aspects of the patient's physical and emotional condition, lifestyle and diet. Explain the treatment to patient and significant others as identified by patient.
