Job Description

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Acquisition Program Manager, NH-1101-03 to work for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland.


The V-22 Osprey is the only military tiltrotor aircraft that blends the vertical flight capabilities of helicopters with the speed, range, altitude and endurance of fixed wing aircraft. Salary Range: $94,199- $145,617 (includes locality pay)

Qualifications:

In this position you will serve as an Acquisition Program Manager, leads Integrated Product Teams (IPT) providing life cycle management of assigned Survivability Integrated Product Team for some or all of the V-22 variant platforms (Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy and Foreign Military Sales customers). Responsible for cost, schedule, performance, risks, and opportunities for the aircraft’s electronic warfare and defensive systems. The incumbent will be assigned a hard to fill position in the V-22 Joint Program Office (JPO).

  • Position may be subject to random drug testing
  • Incumbent may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually
  • Delivers presentations on program status, accomplishments, problems / analysis / solutions, requirements for support, and promotion of program objectives to senior military officers and civilians in other program offices of the command, and with using and supporting commands
  • Travel - Work may require travel away from the normal duty station via military or commercial aircraft
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

  • This is an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program. The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other coordinating members, offices, or organizations within the AF or DoD arena and/or with outside organizations or companies
  • Works in conjunction with the contracting officer to approve terms and conditions set forth in contract negotiations, contracting plans, budgets, and changes to the scope of work to be done by the contractor
  • Represents the program office at higher levels within the organization and contractor organizations
  • Resumes will be used to determine qualifications
