PURPOSE:

Performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient processing, verification, authorization, and maintenance of all accounts payable and related transactions. In addition, this position acts as petty cash custodian and general cashier. Ensures all programs and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Berkeley Hall Club.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• Cross trains with the accounting team and provides coverage, as needed
• Prepares and mails annual 1099s
• Various other duties as assigned
• Set invoices up for payment
• Prepare analysis of accounts
• Prepare and perform check runs
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Maintain vendor files and vendor database
• Review and verify invoices and check requests
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions
• Track expenses and process expense reports
• Ensure compliance with W-9 IRS regulations
• Compute monthly and quarterly sales, use accommodations and admissions tax calculations
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
• Assist with month-end closing and produce reports

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
• 1-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
• Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
• Intermediate computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel
• Proficient in data entry and management
• Knowledge of Jonas software is preferred
• An associate degree in business or accounting is an advantage
• Knowledge of accounts payable

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
