We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Accountant. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, for Haptech and its subsidiaries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about accounting and looking to begin their career in the field. This role will report to the Financial Controller.
  What You Will Do
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording and reconciling financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, and assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and schedules to support management decision-making and comply with regulatory requirements. Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve any discrepancies. Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines. Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately input financial data into accounting software systems and maintain organized and up-to-date financial records. Assist with Audits: Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Compliance and Regulations: Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, operations, and procurement, to gather financial information and provide assistance as needed. Assist with Accounting/Finance projects as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions to streamline accounting procedures and enhance overall effectiveness. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant coursework or internships in accounting are highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software systems. Familiarity with accounting principles and practices. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and generate meaningful insights. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders. Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high-quality work within designated timelines. Ethics and Integrity: Uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of financial information. Display a professional demeanor and strong work ethic. Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and accounting practices. This position is located in New Orleans, LA. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
