Job Description
Overview:
The GM Financial Account Manager – Protection continuously strengthens current dealer relationships and improves Finance & Insurance (F&I) contract count through consistent, approved account development/management activities. This team member will provide quality customer service by satisfying the business needs of the dealers, manufacturer partners, and GM Financial. This team member`s overall responsibility will be to deliver the value proposition as an F&I expert and trusted advisor to generate ancillary contracts through product knowledge, industry knowledge, and training demonstrations.
Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Develop business plans to align with corporate goals
  • Administer F&I core competency evaluations
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures
  • Build relationships and communicate opportunities with GM dealers that are not yet enrolled in GM Protection; coordinate new account acquisition process activities in collaboration with the RSM
  • Present relevant information in dealership meetings and group trainings
  • Maintain effective communication with dealers and appropriate internal partners
  • Identify and resolve dealer issues presenting excessive risk to GM Financial
  • Work to resolve dealership issues related to billing, systems, contracts in transit, etc
  • Demonstrate best practices of available reporting tools and dealer-facing systems
  • Analyze dealer-specific data using reporting tools and take appropriate action
  • Achieve key field performance criteria
  • Model GM Financial F&I sales process with dealer and customers for training purposes
  • Communicate updates and opportunities using the internal CRM system and directly to Regional Sales Manager
  • Utilize the Strategic Development Manager (SDM) support team to maximize dealer performance, providing upfront expectations and ongoing communication
  • In-dealership one-on-one training and menu selling demonstrations

Qualifications:
Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred
  • Knowledge of dealership operations and Finance & Insurance required
Skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to meet deadlines and establish objectives
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills
  • Ability to meet with senior level managers
  • Must possess the ability to make consistent quality decisions
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or extensive relevant experience strongly preferred
Experience
  • In-dealership F&I experience strongly preferred
  • A proven track record of quality sales performance and client satisfaction; B2B preferred
Working Conditions
  • Responding to dealer communications outside of normal business hours
  • Willingness to relocate upon territory assignment and ongoing mobility
  • Overnight travel required within multi-state territory
