Your Role
You'll be the driving force behind facilitating the use of our remarkable collections in teaching and research. As an Academic Partnerships Coordinator, you'll advise and support faculty, staff, students, and colleagues on the proper handling and utilization of the collection and innovative teaching-with-objects techniques.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with, and departments to maximize the potential of our Museum's collections in education and research.
Oversee the daily schedule of engagement and coordinate the movement, storage, and handling of the collection, following industry best practices.
Act as the go-to resource for specialized information for faculty and students, responding to inquiries and providing expert assistance.
Utilize our state-of-the-art collections management database to create and maintain accurate records.
Play a vital role in the growth and development of the Academic Partnerships department, contributing to the formulation of goals and policies.
Provide valuable input in the preparation of grant proposals and publications, making a significant impact on the Museum's future.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Material Culture, Museum Studies, or Education, with a focus on post-secondary education.
Master's degree in a relevant field (preferred).
At least four years of related experience, showcasing broad knowledge of curatorial methods and techniques.
Familiarity with collection specialization, collections handling, storage, and preservation.
Proficiency in computer applications and literature related to museum collections is desirable.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, writing ability, and the capability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and exhibit outstanding customer service.
