Youth Services Liaison Jobs

Performs a variety of standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, as necessary

Performs professional technical project tasks as assigned using existing procedures

Coordinates (e.g., compiles, verifies, prepares) materials, information, events, etc. as assigned

Assists in the development and implementation of programs/projects according to plan and/or with guidance

Prepares and delivers evidence-based tasks to assist senior level directors

Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems

Knowledge of personnel management practices and performance reviews.

Knowledge of methods and practices for management and development of a youth based curriculum, and learning stages of youth development.

Attends training workshops, seminars and conferences to enhance professional skills and abilities.

Early Enrichment Program, provides an experiential development program for pre-kindergarten children ages 3-4, which includes language immersion and cultural education.

Knowledge of the history, culture, laws, ordinances, customs and traditions of the SRPMIC.

Skill promoting youth development related program objectives, developing measurable outcomes and providing services in accordance with program objectives.

Experience in an educational setting and/or vocational programs for youth 14 to 21 years of age.

Work independently with students to facilitate skill-building in the areas of personal and social development.

Complete business outreach to develop employment placements and career related learning experiences for youth.

Provide supervision and guided support to students before, during and after work based learning experience.

Prepare required documentation for hiring and payroll for student paid work-based learning experience.

Complete data entry and service documentation to program standards.

Serves as the "group leader" in guiding the group interaction process.

Interacts critically and constructively with staff members to develop and implement successful treatment techniques.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma or GED and an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; and

Knowledge of traditional and electronic resources including web sites, databases and on-line searching skills

A minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience; and

A minimum of one (1) year of experience developing and presenting programs for children; and

Ability to pass computer skills test

Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions and dropout preventions

Knowledge and skill in casework methods

Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.

Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment.

Two years of experience in work related fields of social work or in the community service sector

Strong communication skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, students and outside agencies.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Ability to communicate with teachers and parents to support the educational progress of the students,

Act as a mentor and educational advocate to assist in the students’ progress,

Plan and implement activities that encourage educational achievement;

Act as a liaison between the Tribal community and educational agencies on behalf of Tribal students and parents;

Advocate for students and parents with individual teachers, schools and educational agencies.
