JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma, GED certification and/or applicable job experience

Data entry on computer, organizes, follows procedures, reports accurate results

1 year experience working in a lab environment preferred

Basic math and statistics skills

Must be able to read, write and speak English at the needed level to safely and successfully perform job duties

Utilization of Expense Management Matrix and the Gerdau Business System concepts.

A minimum of two years of lab testing experience.

Experience with MS Office and SAP preferred

Prefer sensitive technical instruments experience

Manage retention samples for each batch of reagents. Discarding of expired retention samples.

Ability to manage assigned tasks and projects

Inspect and release incoming raw materials for production use.

Approve labels for every batch produced.

Perform revision of the RMS’s as needed.

Perform data entry of test results.

1+ year of prior Inspection experience preferred.

Ensure Quality Control Lab and equipment is kept in excellent working condition and meets/exceeds all safety requirements.

High School degree or an equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.

Responsible for testing Barnhill-produced asphalt mix at any of company s asphalt plants in accordance with NCDOT specifications.

Oversee plant calibrations required by NCDOT specifications.

This job requires the following motions: standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting.

Required regular lifting of 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

· Regular verification/calibration of lab equipment, including annual 3 rd party certification.

· Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.

Perform routine analytical testing for raw materials, special test requests, laboratory investigations, and instrument qualifications according to validated methods.

Plan and co-ordinate all aspects of the project construction process with the vendor/sub-contractor.

Timely submission of Weekly Progress Report (WPR) or Construction report (CR), to head office.

Provide the reliable and comprehensive project reports to the project team advising critical activities, schedule updates, and related project needs.

Daily monitoring of construction progress, considering quality concerns, and ensuring jobsite safety considerations are addressed.

Coordinate with the third party inspector and site In-charge for inspection and meeting about quality lapses including the closure of NCRs.

Maintaining proper documents i.e. emails copies / reports etc. for future reference.

§ Inventory management and ordering as a part of the laboratory staff.

· Strong verbal communication, writing skills, and experience with the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and Minitab).

§ Data entry and analysis including excel spreadsheet development and expansion.

· Basic computer skills including using the internet and using MS Office software.

§ Previous laboratory experience in food / beverage industry.

§ Cicerone certifications are a plus

Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to comply with deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Manage and maintain confidential information.

English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English required

4 months lab or production experience
