Quality Lab Engineer Jobs

Possess inspection and quality skills with knowledge of quality control principles and standards.

Material testing knowledge and skill is needed.

Three years experience in quality and/or composite manufacturing is preferred and/or a 2-year technical college education.

Knowledge and/or skill in Six Sigma and Lean principles are preferred.

Reviews the MRDR for TATS material for testing requirements.

Maintains working knowledge of company, customer and industry specifications and quality standards.

Interprets engineering and industry specifications and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards

Performs other tasks as requested by Quality Manager

Experience with wire and cable testing, fiber optic, flame testing, electrical and mechanical testing

Solid computer skills (Windows XP, MS Word, MS Excel) and writing ability

Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and operational focus

Preferred Associates Degree in chemical or mechanical discipline and/or relevant experience

Knowledge of Microsoft Office required; SAP experience is preferred

Problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and utilize resources

Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in fast paced environment

Ability to work flexible hours

6:30pm-3am Monday-Friday with rotating weekends equally shared among the four Lab Technicians

· Carry out internal audits according to the requirements of the Food Safety Program

· Analytical mind and skill in continuous improvement;

· 1 to 3 years of experience in the manufacturing of corrugated packaging (preferred) or;

· 1 to 3 years of relevant quality lab testing experience in a manufacturing environment

· Knowledge and mastery of systems and software of the Microsoft Office suite;

· Some knowledge of Quality Control systems in required; knowledge of Food Safety standards is a plus;

Assist Quality Management with the coordination and submission of outside lab samples and results within a 24-hour cycle time.

Creates Purchase Orders for the laboratory supplies and manages the receipts and invoices through the iBuy system.

Provides training and technical support to the Quality Coordinator group regarding raw material testing requirements and bulk specifications.

Follows and complies with approved regulatory policies and standard operating procedures, GMPs and safety and health requirements as applicable.

1-3+ years’ experience in a chemical, microbiology or related field preferred

Able to read and understand Chemistry, micro-biology terminology and documentation Knowledgeable

Bachelor of Science Degree in a science related field and/or prior experience in food industry is preferred, but not required

Good organizational skills, able to work alone, detail-oriented

Good person-to-person, written and telephone communication skills

Possess or able to gain technical competence to better understand manufacturing processes and the compliance requirements of a food manufacturer

Basic PC skills: Keyboard typing, Web browser, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook

Conduct analytical and physical testing of raw material samples

Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility

Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Knowledge and understanding of the processes, methods and operations in functional area(s) of responsibility

Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area

Knowledge of Quality methodologies, measurement systems, and Standard Operating Procedures

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/degree

Experience with HVAC (preferred), electrical systems, electronics and microprocessors and serial data analyzers

Knowledge of leak detection technologies, and programmable automation controllers and programmable logic controllers
