Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required

Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire

Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)

Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.

Provides basic education to patients

HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent education/experience

General knowledge of various medical procedures, views, and equipment.

Competent and validated in basic Medical Assisting skills such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exam, and administering injections.

Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

Experience in Ambulatory Clinics preferred.

Computer knowledge and clerical / business office functions.

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.

Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Graduate of an accredited school.

DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

Experience in Ambulatory Clinics preferred.

Computer knowledge and clerical / business office functions.

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.

Excellent and adaptable computer skills, multi-line telephone management skills, and patient service/management skills.

Coordinates beginning-of-day bank pick-up procedures, end-of-day bank and credit card management with the billing office.

Knowledge of patient billing and coding.

Ability to manage patient flow and patient accounting.

Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.

Schedules patients with residents and graduate faculty to ensure efficient patient flow.

Provide education and counseling to members on GAHT

Manage hub locations: function as point person for escalations with vendors

Manage incoming message inbox in EMR, direct messages to appropriate recipients, answer questions as allowed by scope of practice.

Code and fill out insurance forms, manage prior authorizations

Active MA certification (through the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred)

Previous experience with computer skills and ability to navigate EMR – Epic, Word, etc.

Medical Assistant diploma or Associate's degree required or equivalent clinical experience

Driver's license may be required for travel between physician offices depending upon practice requirements

Provides clinical support to physicians and extenders during patient examinations and procedures. (25%)

Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the room stocked and cleaned, reordering supplies, and disposing of biohazard supplies. (10%)

Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary. (15%)

May collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing; give injections. (5%)

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

Assess problems/conditions during workup and accurately documents in medical records.

Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate supply levels.

Responsible for training new clinical staff members within clinic.

Maintains and assists in coordinating clinical coverage within the clinic in conjunction with network leadership team.

Ensure effective office/clinic staff internal tracking of test/procedure results, medication acquisition, missed appointments and adherence to follow-up appointments.

Takes patient histories and vital signs.

Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.

Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization procedures.

Assist provider in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.

Removing sutures and changing dressings.

Assist with Clinic Receptionist duties as needed.
