Food Safety Compliance Specialist Jobs

Support internal process and system improvements for risk assessment, data analysis, and documentation management.

Self-starter that requires little direction or oversight with a proven ability of problem solving, managing multiple priorities simultaneously and time management

Manage Supplier/co-manufacturer documentation and approval program either directly or in cooperation with contract manufacturer.

5-7 years of experience in food safety or similar discipline

Food Science degree preferred. Facility food safety/quality experience preferred

Advanced level food safety technical knowledge, including demonstrated knowledge of microbiology, allergens, HACCP, FSMA and other food regulations

Implementation, routine management, and verification of PRP programs (MSS, Cleaning Programs, Pest Control, Environmental Montioring, GMP Audits).

Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.

Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.

Implement and adjust CCP/OPRP parameters to align with Dietary Supplement requirements and/or HACCP requirements.

Takes direction from the FS Quality Manager to implement new protocols and test scripts regarding CCP/OPRP checks.

Throughout all these responsibilities, maintains a focus on continuous improvement.

Project management experience is a plus

Effectively communicate across the organization with all executive levels and operational management on compliance status.

Advanced understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, Food Defense Principles & Quality Management Systems. (QMS)

Experience within a supply chain role and/or within a manufacturing environment is required

Advanced skills within Microsoft Suite especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Food industry experience highly preferred

3–5 year’s previous experience in Food Sanitation or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Participate in authoring technical brochures, printed materials and media presentations to provide technical assistance and education.

Three years of experience as a Washington State Food Safety Compliance Specialist.

Must be able to complete PCQI training certification.

Demonstrated ability working with GFSI auditing requirements is desired.

Active Third-Party GFSI Auditor Certification is preferred. Those with inactive certifications will be considered.

Must have excellent technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills.

Suggest continuous improvement strategies for Food Safety Management team and ECS Crew.

Regularly audit that sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in GFSI scheme environments, preferably BRC and SQF

Comprehensive knowledge of Food Safety HACCP

Ideally will have developed and implemented all paperwork and training as it relates to FSMA Regulations and SQF Code Certification.

Ability for strategic innovation thinking, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and strong communication skills required.

Manage and support existing food safety programs and emerging priorities

Manage the Powered Industrial Truck training program and ensure all associates are properly certified

Lead annual GFSI recertification audits

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Coordination of activities: Plant management level and below / corporate teams / external contacts

Strong working knowledge of QA principles.

Working Knowledge of federal and state food industry regulations.

Conducts in-depth analysis and interpretation of regulatory compliance requirements against the company’s current operating control standards and guidelines.

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 3-years dairy food manufacturing experience performing supervisory level work, preferably in food manufacturing.

Working knowledge and applied understanding of the State and Federal FDA regulatory compliance standards and regulations.

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP program requirements.

Experience leading food safety policies and procedures.

Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.

Update any new items requested by auditors, and work with appropriate departments to implement tracking and gathering of new data requirements,

Keep update filing and list of all Daybrook certification required,

Represent the company for all audit reviews and report findings directly to HSE Manager,

Responsible for meeting all regulatory compliance obligations as required by regulators.

Weekly physical inspection of facility for Sanitation/Housekeeping reporting,

Oversee and maintain the food safety and quality assurance programs in accordance with FSMA/HARPC,

5+ years of relevant work experience within grocery, food service, and/or compliance; project or process management experience within these functions preferred

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Proficiency in Food Safety practices, familiarity with FDA Model Food Code, and/or CP-FS, REHS certifications preferred

Effective communication skills with the ability to create transparency and confidence and influence across all levels of Target Team Members

Ability to adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to ambiguous, changing or competing priorities

Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
