Advanced knowledge and clinical experience in behavioral health diagnosis and treatment

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification is preferred but not required

Provide consultation, medication evaluation, and oversight to a range of people experiencing behavioral health issues

Diagnose and treat acute behavioral health conditions or illnesses; prescribe medication, and monitor medication regime

Deliver patient care, conduct status evaluations and assessments, and create diagnostic formulation

Monitor health care issues, consult with medical physicians, and refer for specialized medical care as needed

One (1) year experience working in a Human Services, Social Services/Mental Health and/or correctional setting.

Assists w/ accountability review boards & all assigned institutional boards as needed.

Assists in providing program develop & training for uniform/non-uniform staff as directed.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Intermediate level computer skills and experience (EMR, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, web-browser).

Board eligible or board certification in genetic counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)

Strong written/oral communication and counseling skills. Skill in writing comprehensive counseling reports for patient records, referring health professionals and clients.

Knowledge of current development in the field of Genomic Medicine; must be able to remain current as well.

Knowledge of health care resources available for appropriate referral.

Participates on multi-disciplinary treatment team for the purposes of program evaluation development and case management consultation.

Completes clinical assessments to determine course of action and to plan treatment and evaluate the ongoing progress of program participants.

Develops/implements treatment plans in collaboration with client, outlining desired treatment outcomes and intervention strategies.

Maintains clinical documentation of all services provided and client contacts made from intake to discharge.

Ensures client confidentiality/rights are maintained.

Participates in staff meetings and attends training sessions as required.

Makes routine inspections of the living areas for compliance with security, safety, and sanitation standards.

Conducts investigations of alleged misconduct on the part of inmates and security personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.

Assists in conducting formal and informal counts.

Supervises the job performance, conduct and appearance of assigned security personnel and prepares employee evaluations.

Counsels, recommends disciplinary action, and trains subordinate staff to required standards of performance.

Eighteen (18) months of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work.

Assumes primary responsibility for security for all buildings and public property.

Assists with all inmate counts for accuracy.

Arbitrates disputes among inmate population and correctional staff.

Four (4) years of responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience.

May be required to have experience in the use of CRT and/or personal computer.

Serves as the principal administrative employee for the warden.

Supervises five administrative specialists and is the liaison between the staff, inmate population, families, attorneys, local government and SCDC officials.

Serves as the warden's representative on various committees.

Provides consultation statewide for difficult clients.

Designs, implements, and monitors client treatment programs.

Conducts individual and group psychotherapy.

Under limited supervision, performs psychological evaluations, selects, administers and interprets individualized psychological tests.

Participates in treatment team meetings.

Reviews incident reports written by officers. Instructs and counsels officers concerning duty requirements.

Assists lieutenant in evaluating officer performance provides direct supervision to subordinate officers.

Investigates inmate complaints and takes appropriate action; instructs and counsels inmates as required.

Monitors inmate movement within the institution.

Position is assigned in RHU and is eligible for the $2500 incentive.

Consult with training academy and institutional management team re: new hire job performance.

Oversee correctional officer skills enhancement program (COSEP) training.

Three (3) years experience in correctional, security, or Police work, to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Conduct performance evaluations and observation reports on all uniform new hires on all shifts.

Monitor, evaluate, and track new hires' progress through the first year of employment.

Submit recommendations/reports to appropriate staff.
