Behavioral Health Billing Specialist Jobs

A Master's degree in a related field (psychology, social work, counseling, etc.) or equivalent experience.

Experience working in a healthcare or behavioral health setting, preferably in admissions or patient intake.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.

Knowledge of insurance and billing processes related to behavioral health treatment.

Develop financial management plans for clients who receive Representative Payee Services and authorizes appropriate expenditures.

Interacts productively within the team in order to provide holistic case management services to an identified group of clients.

Assists in establishing client’s eligibility for Medi-Cal or other benefits and advocates for continuation of benefits when appropriate.

In the absence of the Program Director or designee, provides leadership and direction for clients as assigned.

Supports individual service plans for each client.

Assists in the coordination with staff and outside agencies to obtain data; designs, organizes and develops research plans and evaluation designs.

Advises administrators of research findings and/or procedures; prepares narrative reports of findings with valid conclusions, projects program impacts, and predicts trends.

This position is currently hybrid with occasional in-person meetings in Frankfort, KY.

5+ years working in a clinical setting with mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred.

Maintains current Basic Life Support certification, and current OSHA, safety, and other applicable standards

Provides psycho-education about exposure therapy to patients and parents

Work experience in childcare or mental health treatment settings preferred

Participates with supervising psychologists in the development and operationalization of the exposure therapy-based care plan for assigned patients

Identifies, reports, and works collaboratively with supervising psychologists to solve problems that arise in sessions

Attends peer review, staff meetings, and staff training as assigned
