Wind Turbine Support Technician Jobs

Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements;

Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager, and mentor peers;

Minimum of 4 years of wind trouble-shooting experience, or

Technical Certification(s) in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field;

Minimum High School or GED completion (Bachelor's preferred) or equivalent work experience in construction management or quality control

Manage data from inventory tracking system.

Direct and train skilled labor in various procedures and work instructions.

Knowledge of reinforcement and concrete placement, product testing, module installation processes, and civil construction processes

And various duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager & Director

Capable of reading and understanding shop drawings, mix designs, geotechnical reports, manuals, and engineered drawings.

Experience with wind turbines, fiber-reinforced composites, equipment reliability, or work management programs

Pilot new blade technologies working with commercial and asset management to implement across the fleet

0 to 2 year’s work experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with fiber-reinforced composite analysis

Aerospace or wing design/structure experience

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, SQL Server software, facility management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools

High school completion and 1+ year’s related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must have knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques

Comparing, copying, calculating, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:

Complete all scheduled maintenance for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment in a timely manner to maximize generation

Review Blade Post Repair Reports

Support development of blade integrity program

Highly skilled in CFD and FEA using ANSYS Fluent and Workbench

Good knowledge of fracture mechanics and fatigue

(25%) Develop CFD models for a horizontal axis wind turbine blades using ANSYS Fluent

(20%) Develop finite element models of damaged wind turbine blades under cyclic loadings based on fracture mechanics and fatigue

(15%) Publish results in conference proceedings and journals.

Leading and supporting technical negotiations internally and externally and supporting commercial negotiations

Managing load iteration process, and associated interfaces with suppliers

Advising project teams on risk, opportunity, schedule, and cost for the WTG scope. Managing interfaces between WTG scope and other packages

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Successfully completed university studies in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or in a comparable field)

Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment

Follow ROC procedures to drive standardized global practices
