Welding Apprentice Jobs in Texas

Demonstrate welding skills and theory at entry- and advanced levels according to nationally recognized welding standards and codes.

During Holiday Breaks from school and summertime the apprentice may work fulltime hours.

Personnel management and supervision, including mentorship of junior welders

General welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment knowledge, theory, application, maintenance and testing

3+ years of experience in a leadership role

Experience managing more than 10 employees

Knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.6, and D1.2

Aluminum gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) experience

Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge and experience in the teaching field and assigned teaching discipline

Must utilize the college Learning Management System for setting up course materials online and use of online gradebook

Perform job duties as assigned by department chair and dean (unless request is in violation of TJC policy or local/state/federal laws)

Embed interactive learning activities in the instructional setting that engage student learning and encourage student development of active learning skillsets

Maintain required memberships/licensures/certifications per department and accrediting body standards

Minimum of three years’ recent industry work experience.

Starting wage is $19-$23 an hour based on experience and certification.

Employees work 25 hours, go to school for 7 hours, and get a 32-hour work week with full benefits.

With completion of the program and the beginning of full-time employment.

Prior experience teaching welding at the vocational school or technical school level is preferred.
