NCCER qualifications: Four years of trade experience or three years of experience teaching a specific trade.

Provide instruction to inmates/detainees for various labor and/or technical skills. through classroom instruction, demonstration, and practical exercises.

Assess educational needs of inmates, develop lessons plans to address those needs to include individualized assignments and training.

NCCER Certification or the ability to obtain NCCER Certification within 90 days of hire required.

Certification in one or more trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or commercial painting preferred.

Valid teaching certificate from the state Department of Education preferred.

Four (4) years of bedside or clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.

Two or more years of experience as a clinical instructor is preferred.

Assist the administrative assistant with faculty and student clinical site requirements.

Develop teaching methods and strategies to engage the students in learning and to promote clinical judgment skills in the clinical setting.

Adhere to the requirements of accrediting, federal, and state agencies as well as the policies and procedures of the university.

Four (4) years of bedside or clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.

Previous experience in disability/absence management highly preferred

Great multi-tasking, time management and prioritization skills

Ergonomic skills and/or certification highly preferred

Advanced knowledge of federal and state disability laws/regulations regarding job and worksite accommodation for people with disabilities; specifically, ADA and FMLA

Assist STD and LTD Case Manager and Waiver of Premium Specialists

Stay updated regarding legislation and national, state, and local issues affecting access for employees with disabilities

Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards and applicable requirements by contract.

Plan and document a program of study that meets the individual needs and abilities of students.

High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.

Experience in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have the ability to give clear instructions in the trade and/or vocational area.

Document client services and activities in Fedcap and HRA management information systems, including but not limited to AllSector and NYCWAY

Manage distribution of metro cards.

Orient clients on the vocational evaluation process

Administer and score vocational evaluations, assessments, battery of tests, and work samples for clients assigned to vocational rehabilitation services.

Observe and report client behavior, attendance, and punctuality to Vocational Evaluators

Conduct and document escalating outreach to clients who fail to report for appointments.

Completes all vocational rehabilitation processing of referrals, reports, plans and closures per Sedgwick/BWC policy.
