In Vivo Associate Scientist Jobs

Knowledge of in vivo pharmacology principles, drug metabolism and in vivo dosing and sampling skills

Demonstrated understanding and experience in performing pharmacological and mechanistic studies in in-vivo models of Retinal Diseases, including all pertinent ex-vivo analyses.

Expertise with integrated physiological assessments in the eye, including ocular dosing and dissection techniques. Experience in ocular imaging is a plus

Demonstrates good oral, written, and interpersonal skills and is a strong collaborator and team player.

Protocol development and approval in partnership with IVS and IACUC. Responsible for validity, reproducibility, interpretation, documentation.

Works under limited supervision with a high level of autonomy.

Certification or training in project management.

Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documentation. Resource Management:

Proven track record in project management and team leadership.

Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for in vivo projects.

Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, pharmacology) or equivalent experience.

Substantial experience in in vivo research, including experience with various animal models and techniques.

BS/MS in Molecular/Cellular Biology, or a related Life Science discipline, with 2+ years in vivo experience.

Hands-on experience working with rodent animal models (mouse or rat).

Responsibilities of the RA II/Sr. RA (In Vivo):

Requirements of the RA II/Sr. RA (In Vivo):

Establish and quantify readouts for in vivo efficacy, biodistribution, and other effects of dosed articles in animal models.

Execute and/or troubleshoot diverse assays – physiological, behavioral, or tissue-based - perform relevant analysis, document all experimental details and results.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Critical thinking with high degree of innovative and analytical skills

Perform efficacy and tolerability testing in mouse cancer models

Independently document, analyze, and reporting of animal models (syngeneic and xenograft model, human PBMC model), pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) studies.

Work collaboratively with members of the discovery biology team and provide summaries to project teams.

Highly organized, motivated, and self-initiated, with ability to prioritize and solve challenges.

Education: Masters or PhD or equivalent experience in Neuroscience or relevant scientific disciplines with a strong emphasis on in vivo research.

Manage and analyze experimental data.

Seeking candidates with 2-6 years’ experience in industry ideally. 2+ years in drug discovery and neurodegenerative disease areas is highly desired.

Experience with models of neurodegenerative diseases, including molecular mechanisms involving innate repair pathways.

Extensive hands-on experience with animal handling and dosing techniques, including administration routes (e.g., oral, intravenous, subcutaneous) and sample collection methods.

Proficiency in laboratory bench skills such as RNA analysis, enzyme assays, kinetic analyses, microscopy, neuroanatomy and/or histology.

Desire and ability to learn new skills to help contribute to our multi-disciplinary teams

Experience with antibody characterization (LC-MS, HPSEC, Octet, Biacore) highly desired

Experience with ÄKTA purification system or iQue3 preferred

Experience in cloning of antibody into expression vector, antibody humanization and affinity optimization preferred

Proficient in computers with excellent record keeping, documentation and good organizational skills

Professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to interpret and understand SOPs and laboratory procedures

Can independently manage and troubleshoot small and large rodent studies for in vivo and ex vivo endpoints.

Experience with design, documentation, and execution of experiments

Scientific and team-directed communication skills

Experience on cross-functional therapeutic program teams

Experience within a start-up or small biotech environment

In vitro binding (such as Biacore, Octet) and activity assays

Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure operational excellence of daily laboratory needs

Experience and knowledge of mammalian cell culture and techniques

BS/BA with some relevant laboratory experience required

Practical experience with a broad range of in vitro biological assays (including GPCRs, kinases, transporters, and ion channels)

Outstanding experimental design, problem-solving, and data analysis skills

Experience using wide range of automation, inventory systems, data analysis and informatics systems

Ability to manage multiple projects, and handle documents in a timely manner

Independently perform tumor implantation, mice randomization, group assignment and dosing via tail-IV, IP, SubQ and intramuscular injections

Independently monitor tumor progression by caliper measurement or IVIS imaging
