Your Day To Day Responsibilities Include

Scheduling procedures for multiple specialties.

Collaborating with partners from external facilities.

Coordinating care for various patients

Working closely with authorization team to ensure billing is completed correctly

Managing internal and external referrals

Verifies patient eligibility and coverage for procedure, obtain precertification's, and discuss potential financial obligations with patient.

Obtains precertification or proper insurance approval prior to surgical procedures.

Notifies and forwards paperwork for insurance certification to billing office and obtains additional paperwork if needed, for compliance.

Coordinates surgery schedule with patient, physician and operating room, in support of surgery scheduling function.

Monitors surgery schedule and ensures optimization of resources and workflow.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and working knowledge of insurance and financial options.

Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Obtains insurance information from patients and counsels alternative ways for financial assistance.

Communicates with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient scheduling calls/requests.

Two years or related experience in a healthcare environment (PREFERRED)

Six months of Orthopedic Surgery Scheduling experience (STRONGLY PREFERRED)

Conduct physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care

Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
