Weekend/Holiday Rotation Required by Department

Supports and demonstrates the continuous improvements of quality and service.

Preferred/Optional: One year experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician. One year experience with direct patient care.

Minimum Required: Department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).

WORK Shift: Variable, Weekend and Holiday rotation

Preferred/Optional: Completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or First Responder courses.

Required to either have completed the “Basic Arrythmia” course or have demonstrated experience in rhythm interpretation.

Will require applicants to complete ECG test prior to job offer being extended.

Six months Experience in a hospital environment.

Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Recognition Course.

Will be enrolled in an internally developed online course as part of orientation.

Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac rhythms.

Documents rhythm strips according to Care Center policy.

Maintains communication with appropriate nurse regarding telemetry concerns.

Responds appropriately in emergency situations.

Maintains a safe and orderly environment by assuming responsibility for organizing and coordinating the telemetry station.

Accepts responsibility for professional growth and development.

Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

Experience: Minimum 1 year Interpreting rhythms, preferred.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Successful completion of EKG certification program from accredited organization.

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of a Medical terminology course or equivalent education/experience.

Telemetry Technician at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. This is a 0.6 FTE, night shift position.
