Have a working knowledge of hand-held calculators is important.

Familiarity with requirements of global positioning (GPS) and geographical land information systems (G/LIS).

General knowledge of hydrographic, mining and photogrammetric surveying.

Knowledge of and familiarization with general applications of CAD.

Knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standards and organizations such as MSPS, ALTA, NGS, ACSM, BLMS, and ASCE.

2-year Associates or 4-year B.S. degree in Surveying/Surveying Technology or the equivalent work experience preferred.

High school education or equivalent and at least four years of construction experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Interpret blueprints, building codes and other design requirements.

Running Robotic total station, Engineers Level, GPS.

Provide grids, lines, control points and elevation.

Have good communication skills with management, fellow employees, and inspection personnel

5+ years of experience as a Surveyor on Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) projects of roadway, bridge, or underground utility construction.

Layout roadway, bridge, underground utility, and other construction projects with survey equipment accurate in both line and grade

Assist the field supervisors in day to day field construction layout

Ensure quality standards are met

Advanced training or education in surveying, mapping or a related field, and one (1) year of surveying experience relevant to assignment

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: 7-3 Monday through Friday.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $88,939.50 - $113,896

Open Until Filled with application review and interviews scheduled every 2 weeks.

Ensure that all surveys are properly labeled with date, park, artist details, and surveyor information

Return all completed surveys to Front of House Coordinator

Outgoing, comfortable initiating conversations with the public

Familiarity with park / neighborhood strongly preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Associates degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent in combined education and experience

Continuing education course in land surveying, civil engineering road design and drainage helpful

Zero to three years of experience

Gathers and analyzes land plans, deeds, aerial photos, highway alignment plans and similar documents

Assists in determining precise locations and boundaries utilizing equipment such as transits, theodolites, auto levels, and similar devices

Analyzes and plots data utilizing computer software and CAD system
