Success in This Position Requires the Following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Manages receipt of print/physical one-time and continuing resources in Alma Library Management System.

Coordinates with the Resource Management and Metadata unit to process straight-to-binding materials.

Department is willing to accept experience in lieu of education

May teach electronic research classes to new and experienced library users.

Knowledge of NASA policy and procedures, including laboratory operation, configuration control/management, and safety & mission assurance.

Document closeout risks and report status to Logistics Lead and SOFIA Project Manager weekly.

High School Diploma and 7 years of related experience.

Excellent written and oral skills. Proactive communicator.

Knowledge of SOFIA technical and science systems, personnel, facilities, and aircraft operational environment.

Review project property for information on reuse, disposition and sale of property going through the excess process.

Clearly illustrate how prior experience, knowledge and education meet the minimum and desired qualifications for this position.

One year experience of full time equivalent working in leadership and/ or management.

Associates degree and one year of full time equivalent experience working in a library.

Experience with managing data and/or statistics, creating, compiling and/or running reports.

Six months of full time equivalent experience working with Library acquisitions and/or circulation and/or serials.

Two years customer service, library or education/teaching experience.

Straightens and cleans up the library to provide a welcoming experience.

Assists patrons with library technology offerings, such as Microsoft Office, e-books and online databases.

Helps manage library materials collection.

Keeps current on new library resources, trends, technology and offerings .

Takes initiative to consistently update skills to effectively assist patrons.

Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Effective time management; maximizes productivity.

Experience with and knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.

Serves as primary recruitment point of contact for assigned hiring managers.

Facilitates calls with assigned hiring managers; reviews requisition performance and provides recommendations based on data.

Reviews and dispositions applicants; identifies qualified candidates for hiring manager review.

To assist in the preservation, management, and public access of information resources.

Collects and maintains library statistics; produces reports for management.

Differs from Library Specialist 1 by the presence of experienced level duties.
