REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Assists the teacher in creating a positive, nurturing, and supportive class environment conducive to learning and developing social emotional skills.

Knowledge of grade appropriate competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of this position.

Desirable: Associates Degree with a concentration in Education PLUS two years working with elementary age children.

Assists children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.

Supervises students in classroom, hall, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.

Attend the summer training scheduled by the district test coordinator

Serve as a support for social emotional learning, provide group and individual counseling

Assists with transcripts and enrollment of summer school students

Must be willing to attend training sessions to prepare for the summer program as needed
